Trauma-informed therapy & psychology services.
What is trauma-informed therapy?
Trauma touches us all to some extent, and its effects can manifest differently in each person. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, specific disorders, or relationship challenges, my approach as a trauma-informed therapist is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment. Here, you'll find support and guidance to navigate through your experiences and work towards a more balanced, enriched, and meaningful life.
Hello, I’m Ornella
I'm a Brisbane-based psychologist with a focus on trauma-informed care. My goal is to support individuals who have experienced both long-term and short-term trauma.
Before establishing Bloom Psychology, I gained experience in various settings, including private practices, schools, NGOs, and government organizations. My background also includes work in child and adolescent psychiatry, early psychosis, trauma and attachment, as well as individual counseling.
I'm deeply passionate about equipping people with the tools and guidance they need to understand their inner world better. My aim is to empower them to make the necessary adjustments to live the life they desire.
I use a variety of therapeutic skills & modalities to help you experience the change, relief and wellbeing you’re looking for.

About my approach…
Trauma informed - We’re all affected by trauma, and my job is to support, guide, and help understand trauma, its impacts on your brain-body, and help you to move through, so you can live a rich, full, and meaningful life. Trauma informed means that we create a safe space in therapy (by building a good therapeutic relationship between you and your therapist), and we take things at your pace.
Client directed - we work through your goals, goals are not set by the therapist (but we can guide you!).
Feedback informed - the process of getting regular feedback to improve the therapeutic process. This can look like asking regular questions about how you are feeling about certain questions/parts of therapy; how the session went for you; if the mode of therapy works/is working for you; if we went through the goals and topics that were important for you to go through.
Integration - while there are many types of therapy available, your therapist will use a variety of skills from each type of therapy, while working through your goals.
